This page provides an overview of the wedding floral preservation process. If you have sympathy flowers for a memorial keepsake, use the information below as a general guideline. Please contact us or sign our Guest Book, as the circumstances of bereavement are of a more sensitive and immediate nature, and so that we may better serve you.

Below, we take you step-by-step from inception to completion of your wedding keepsake. Please review and should you have any questions, please contact us or send an email and we'd be happy to answer any of your questions. We look forward to working with you to customize a floral preservation keepsake especially made for you. We offer a wide selection of arrangements, designs, frames and styles.

The planning process for wedding floral preservation typically begins 30 days prior to the wedding date. If this is not possible, we are happy to receive your wedding flowers up to and including immediately after the wedding. If your date is upcoming, it is helpful to know so that we can make arrangements to receive your bouquet in-person at our studio or to have it shipped to us.

Please sign our Guest Book to start the process.

Note: It is also helpful at this time to designate a family member or friend who will be responsible for caring for and transporting your bouquet to us while you are away on honeymoon. Once you have selected your designated person, please notify us with contact information and the proposed drop-off date or shipping details.

Please browse our wedding gallery to gather ideas for your floral keepsake. You'll see a variety of styles, sizes, shapes, colors, arrangements, and options such as photo's and invitations.

If you desire, we can discuss all the details of customizing your keepsake at this time. However, there's no need to make all the decisions about your floral preservation up front all at once. We will have a consultation to discuss customizing your piece. We can discuss further options, colors, etc. when you return from your honeymoon. Whatever you desire.

After you've had a chance to look through the wedding gallery, the important initial decision is the size and type (frame, glass dome, keepsake box, etc.) of the piece you would like. One of the factors to keep in mind is whether you'd like the entire bouquet used in your keepsake, or if you'd like a portion of the flowers used. Most brides choose to use the entire bouquet while others choose to make an arrangement from the flowers. We offer both garden-style and whole-bouquet arrangements.

Garden style allows flexibility in making an arrangement with all or some of the flowers. Smaller frames and domes only allow for garden arrangements. See our sizing guide more information. Make your selection and use our online order form to make the initial deposit. We will contact you within 48 hours to acknowledge your deposit and take next steps. If you have any questions, please email us or contact us.

Reminder: Once you have selected the designated person to be responsible for your flowers, please notify us with their contact information and the proposed drop-off date or shipping details.

This is a critical step in the planning process. As soon as your flowers have "retired" from your wedding day it is necessary to put them in water and ensure they are hydrated the entire time before they are sent to us. Please use following guidelines to ensure they are kept in the best possible condition:
  1. If the stems are exposed on the bottom of the bouquet, cut them back approximately 1/4 inch and place bouquet in water to keep hydrated.
  2. If fabric covers the bottom of your bouquet, place the bouquet in water as is. There is no need to remove the wrapping around the stems.
  3. For bouquets in a plastic and foam base, add water to the foam.
  4. To keep as fresh as possible, please refrigerate your flowers as soon as possible and let them remain there until the time of drop-off or shipping. But please DO NOT EVER put your flowers in the freezer!!!

By this time, you should have selected your designated person to either drop-off or ship your wedding flowers. Please let us know their contact information and the arrangements you'd like to make via email or telephone. If you prefer to ship your flowers, please refer to the shipping instructions below for proper packaging and address details. It is necessary that we have your flowers by the Monday or Tuesday after the wedding to ensure they are received in good order. It is not optimal to preserve flowers once they have begun to brown and wilt. We cannot be responsible for flowers in poor condition.

Note: We do not accept flowers without an initial deposit. Please ensure the deposit has been made online before drop-off or shipping, or at the time of drop-off via cash or credit card.

US Postal Service Shipping Address:
FlowersPreserved
P.O. Box 222
Rockport, MA 01966

Shipping Instructions:
Use a box that is large enough to comfortably fit the wedding bouquet inside. Purchase a lightweight lunch box "cold-pak" or "cooler-pak", freeze it, and place on the bottom of the box. Layer foam peanuts on the bottom of the box, using just enough to cover the cold-pak. Carefully place the bouquet in a plastic bag and use a twist-tie to close the end of the bag. Place in the box and cover with enough foam peanuts to fill the rest of the box. This will help minimize the flowers from being bumped around during shipment. Please ship overnight via the US Postal Service if possible. If using UPS or FedEx, then contact us directly for further details.

If we haven't already discussed customizing your keepsake before the wedding, we can set up an appointment when you return from your honeymoon. There are several styles, sizes, backgrounds and frames to choose from. In addition, options to include in your piece include: wedding invitation, photo(s), poem, groom's boutonniere or other momento of your choice. Should you decide on any of these options, they will need to be sent to our shipping address.

We welcome ideas you may have in designing your piece. As you can see from our gallery, there are many options to choose from.

To carefully craft your floral keepsake will take several months. There are many steps involved in constructing your unique piece. Once your preservation is completed we will notify you. At time of delivery, the remaining balance due will be collected. We can send an invoice to you via email, or if necessary, accept payment at time of pick-up. We can also ship your keepsake to you at your expense. You can provide your shipping details via our email form.
